It was on April 11, 1693, that Debrecen was granted the status of a royal free city by King Leopold I – so we celebrate our city today.
Since April 11 is also the Day of Hungarian Poetry, we continue our long-standing tradition of decorating exhibits with poems that are related to animals as well as ones written by Debrecen-based poets.
