The national survey by the Hungarian Baths Association shows that bathing areas in Hungary expect an average revenue loss of 40 per cent this year. It was highlighted at the organisation’s autumn general assembly meeting, which began on 8 September, that the Government’s support was necessary for the sector to be capable of protecting jobs.

More than 150,000 people have visited Debrecen’s new water adventure complex, the Aquaticum Debrecen Water Centre, since its opening at the beginning of the summer. Ever since it was opened, the hotel connected to it has never produced as high booking data as in July. Tourism in the city has diverse sources, and the related developments will continue – mentioned László Papp at the general assembly meeting of the Hungarian Baths Association. The Mayor also said that investors demanded high-quality accommodation, which induced several hotel developments in the city. For example, a four-star hotel can be constructed next to Aquaticum, through a 4.4-billion HUF project the Municipality won.
